Staff

Meet the friendly staff at {Olson Veterinary Services}!

  • Dr.
    Randi Olson

For over 50 years Dr. Olson has been a resident of Porter County.  She knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian from a very young age.  It was after watching the original 1967 Dr. Dolittle movie that she knew she wanted to learn how to talk to animals and believed that if she become a veterinarian she could.  Her mother, a nurse, was passionate about helping animals, her father, a doctor, was passionate about helping people.  She grew up actively involved with rescuing people and animals her whole life.  This included all sets of animals including horses, cattle ducks, pigs, goats, birds, dogs, and cats.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Purdue University in 1982 and graduated with honor.  She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986.  She has over 30 years of experience in the veterinary field but makes state of the art medical knowledge and advancement a priority.

She believes that client education and communication are extremely important and that she, the clinic staff, and the pet owner should function together as a pet healthcare team.

Influenced by her parents' medical backgrounds and their passion for helping both animals and people, she developed a passion for veterinary medicine.   She is a fan of Albert Scweitzer and his belief in 'reverence for all life'  became a pescatarian in 2017.  She is the proud parents of two sons:  Ryan who is finishing his MBA at the Kelly School of Business in Indianapolis and Dan a sophomore at IU Bloomington who is pursing a career in human medicine.

Dr. Olson currently lives with her family of 4 rescue animals:  'Callie' a pit bull mix, 'Sheena' a domestic long hair cat, 'Kit Kat' a domestic short hair cat, and 'Winston' a domestic long hair cat.

  • Conn Martin

From growing up with German Shepherds to raising Morgan Horses, Conn's love of animals has always been present. She graduated from Purdue University in 1978 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She spent 22 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician in small animal practice and 10 years at a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.

Her life has been blessed with 2 sons, Joel and Michael, and is now the proud 'Nana' of 3 grandkids. She and her husband Rich doproviwnsized a few years back and moved to the country with their Labrador Retriever 'Gracie'. Now they enjoy sitting on their front porch swing watching beautiful sunsets and experiencing Mother Nature at her finest.

Conn is happy to be working in small animal practice again so she can get her 'critter fix'. She provides an almost magical calming influence on both people and pets throughout the clinic. She treats all of our patients with such a gentle touch that they can't help but love her and so do we!
